Exactly! Sony should be highlighting what a unique experience PS2 offers, not making stupid comparisons like this. That's the message of the article anyway.
Totally disagree. F2P is advancing all the time, and when done right, it's basically Pay What You Want. You choose which bits of a great game you want, or decide to effectively donate to thank the devs for their work.
Take Planetside 2. I played it for 25 hours without paying a penny, and had access to every class, vehicle and upgrade - either unlocked from the geo-go or with in-game currency. I decided to spend a few quid on a cool-looking hat just because I felt SOE des...
What 'agenda?' What possible agenda could a multiplatform site have against a sizeable portion of its own audience? Let's not throw the toys out of the pram now.
Don't get me wrong, I still plan to get ghosts on Xbox One, but I'm not expecting a revolution.
@Eonjay: That achievement is worth 1080G.
SNAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!
Possible MGS V achievement then?
"Throw an Xbone to Riley - 20G"
On the one hand, fanboyism is just part of the rivalry that keeps exclusive standards high and platform holders (*relatively*) honest.
On the other, great article, and well said. Also the Amiga 600 is the greatest gaming device of all time OH WHAT.
Yeah I think that's the key really. We need more stuff to do, and to make our continued play worthwhile!
As much as I hate that logic, I can't argue with it! Still, a few players will probably get back online to rank up and actually unlock some of the pricier stuff.
Most MMOs have some sort of penalty for dying, such as a one-off fee or durability - clearly that's their inspiration. Personally, I'm more annoyed by the fact that destroying personal vehicles is frowned upon. This is GTA for goodness' sake! Destroying vehicles is the whole point!
And don't get me started on bounties. That system needs a total overhaul.
Interesting that they also posted http://www.gadgetreview.com... :P It's not exactly surprising that plenty of sites are getting on board with eleventh-hour lists.
Because that's how the internet works, right? ;)
Release EX Troopers in a limited localised run, Capcom!
Why not wait until next Spring/Summer when you can buy the console with the games you actually *want*, not the launch lineup?
Third time's the charm I guess...
Should do! Probably running on a beastly PC dev kit but Aliens CM taught publishers to keep on the level specs-wise. Ubisoft are usually trustworthy with their demos afaik.
Getting this and Forza at launch (FIFA included in Day 1 edition). Reckon it'll tide me over for a while!
I agree, but the problem is even bigger than that. Any number of supposedly big PC games release unfinished or poorly optimised - just look at the likes of Total War: Rome 2, anything Paradox Interactive released in 2011-2012, even RAGE. The fact that there's no certification on PC is a good thing, but it's becoming far too easy for developers to just push out incomplete or broken software and just promise to patch it afterwards IMO.
Better a delay than a disappointment, surely? More to the point, The Crew didn't have a firm release date beyond 'basically the first half of 2014 at some point, I guess.'
Totally agreed. It's chalk and cheese, and rather cynical to be honest. I can't understand why Sony aren't marketing PS2 more effectively.
If anything, Destiny will be the PS4's multiplayer Halo (not massively multiplayer, mind).
